Contributing Writer
Francoise Yohalem, public art consultant
and artist, has worked for the last 20 years
helping to bring works of art into our public places. An avid traveler, she
enjoys finding opportunities to combine art, adventure and volunteerism through
travel
For many years she has organized a "Sketchbook Journal Trip" for accomplished and aspiring artists. They have traveled extensively including Turkey, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, Sicily, Guatemala and France. At the end of each trip, an illustrated journal is compiled combining selected artists sketches and daily written journal entries.
Francoise is a volunteer team-leader for U.S. based Global Volunteers and has taken teams to repair schools, build public works projects and community buildings in Costa Rica, Vietnam, Mississippi, Southern Texas and a Navajo Reservation in Arizona.
Every five years, she celebrates her birthday with a mountainous
wilderness trek. Destinations have included the Himalayas, Andes, and recently
climbing to the top of Kilimanjaro.
