THIRD ANNUAL FASHION ON THE TOWN SET FOR OCTOBER 17-18. Greenville, SC

                                        Who needs NYC?

Event showcases the stylishness of shopping local

With the first wisps of crisp autumn air, fall ushers in a wave of all things comforting: football, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, and yes, retail therapy. Who doesn’t love and long for fall fashion? We don’t know a girl out there who wouldn’t trade a new pair of boots or a heavy sweater for most anything in the world. For all the fashionistas and their friends, Fashion on the TOWN is the ultimate girls night out – a passport to a world of red carpets and dizzying discounts, as more than 20 high-end retailers band together in a two-night Fashion Crawl on October 17-18 in beautiful downtown Greenville, S.C.

“This event is exciting because it shines the light on the independently-owned small businesses in our area in a way that is fun, engaging, and profitable for them,” said Kate Banner, who serves as Director of Sponsorships and Community Events for Community Journals and oversees Fashion on the TOWN. “Fashion on the TOWN is one of the ways that people can ‘keep their green in Greenville’ and have a blast doing it.”

Sponsored by Greenville Health System and presented by JB Lacher Jewelers, Land Rover, Hotel Domestique, and TOWN Magazine, Fashion on the TOWN 2013 is a free, public event in which the following participating boutiques will keep their stores open after normal business hours – from 6:00 to 9:00 pm – exclusively for shoppers participating in the Fashion Crawl:

4 Rooms, Alisa Marie Fine Lingerie, Augusta 20, Bubbly Blow Dry Bar, Capello Salon, coxleather.com, Custard Boutique, JB Lacher Jewelers, Labels Designer Consignments, Linda McDougald | Postcard from Paris Home, Macy’s, Megan Diez Salon, Monkee’s of the West End, MUSE Shoe Studio, Palmetto Olive Oil Co., Roots, Sassy On Augusta, Sassy Kids on Augusta, The White Iris, Traveling Chic Boutique, WISH Boutique

“We love participating in Fashion on the TOWN because it creates a great energy in our store. Friends travel together in packs, get excited about the fall styles, and have fun dressing up. Almost like a party! It’s really a treat for us,” said Musette Stern, owner of MUSE Shoe Studio.

During the Fashion Crawl, each shopper will receive a Fashion on the TOWN Passport, chock full of special offers for the Fashion Crawl. Each participating retailer can stamp a shopper’s Passport, and at the end of the Crawl, those shoppers with the most stamps in their Passports are entered to win one of 21 gift certificates for $100, good for shopping in the Fashion on the TOWN participating retail stores, and a New York shopping weekend, courtesy of TOWN Magazine. The drawing will take place live, on Fashion on the TOWN’s Facebook page (facebook.com/fashiononthetown) on October 31st.

New this year, Fashion on the TOWN will include a Storefront Window Contest sponsored by Virginia Hayes, Prudential C. Dan Joyner Realtors. From October 1-18, participating retailers will showcase their decorated storefronts with a Fashion on the TOWN theme, incorporating certain required elements but designing the space with a style all their own. The public will vote for the Best Storefront Wiindow  from October 1-9, on Fashion on the TOWN’s Facebook page (facebook.com/fashiononthetown). The Storefront Window with the most likes on October 9 will be declared the winner at the Fashion on the TOWN VIP Party, on the evening of October 9 at Hotel Domestique. The winner of the Storefront Window Contest will receive a full refund of their participation sponsorship in Fashion on the TOWN.
